IT, digitalisation and automation – from analysis to operation
IT is rarely the goal itself, but the precondition: for processes to run, data to be secure, and staff to be able to work instead of waiting. We build and operate this foundation – from cloud and network to IT security, software development and AI-driven automation. No buzzwords, with documented results.
Nine building blocks – individually or as a complete concept
You don't need to tackle everything at once. It usually starts with a specific trigger: a server replacement, a security incident, software that no longer fits. We place that trigger within the bigger picture and propose a sequence.
Cloud solutions
Migration and operation in Microsoft 365, Azure or European cloud environments: identities, permissions, data storage, backup and cost control. Including the question of what is better kept on-premises.
Cybersecurity & IT security
Protection of endpoints, identities and networks: multi-factor authentication, permission concepts, patch management, endpoint protection, backup and recovery concepts, staff awareness, emergency plan.
Software development
Custom applications and interfaces wherever standard software doesn't fit: web applications, portals, data integration between existing systems, automation of recurring processes.
Network solutions
Planning and implementation of LAN, WLAN, VPN and site connectivity – including segmentation, guest networks, monitoring and documentation that a third party can also read.
Digital transformation
Process first, technology second: we capture your workflows, identify media discontinuities, and digitalise where it measurably saves time – from document flow and approvals to document management.
Hardware development (IoT & embedded)
Sensor technology, measurement data acquisition and connected devices for production, logistics and building services – from feasibility through prototype to integration into your existing system landscape.
Managed IT Services
Ongoing operation with fixed support hours, monitoring, updates and documentation. Primarily remote, on-site by arrangement. 24/7 optional as a premium SLA.
Go to Managed ITIT infrastructure
Servers, storage, virtualisation, workstations and licences: assessment, lifecycle planning, procurement, setup and decommissioning of legacy systems without operational downtime.
AI & automation
Concrete use cases instead of experiments: document recognition, automated data transfer, assistance systems in support, evaluations. Always with an eye on data protection, data sovereignty and actual benefit.
How an IT project runs with us
We don't recommend anything we haven't seen for ourselves first. That's why we always start with an assessment – even when it's uncomfortable.
Assessment
We record systems, contracts, licences, access rights, data flows and risks. The result is a documented current-state picture rather than a guess.
Target picture & prioritisation
We assess what reduces risk, what saves time, and what can wait – with effort and benefit for each measure.
Implementation
Migrations and roll-outs take place in planned windows with a fallback plan. Staff are informed and briefed beforehand.
Operation
Handover into ongoing operation – internally at your company or as Managed IT support from us, including monitoring and regular reviews.
IT security is a matter of organisation, not just software
The vast majority of incidents we deal with don't start with a sophisticated attack, but with everyday matters: an account without a second factor, a server without updates, a backup that was never restored, a former employee with active access. Technology alone doesn't solve this – it takes clear responsibilities and recurring checks.
That's why security isn't a separate product for us, but part of every project. We document who may access what, how recovery works in an emergency, and who makes which decision in a critical situation.
Security baseline we check on every engagement
- Multi-factor authentication for all external access
- Role and permission concept based on least-privilege principles
- Tested backups with a documented recovery time
- Current patch level for operating systems and applications
- Separation of administration and everyday accounts
- Traceable process for staff onboarding and offboarding
- Written emergency plan with contact details and sequence of steps
Digitalisation that pays off: process first, then the tool
Digitalisation projects rarely fail because of the technology. They fail because an unclear process gets digitalised – and remains just as unclear afterwards, only faster. Before we introduce a system, we therefore capture the relevant workflow: who generates information, who needs it, where is it stored in the meantime, where does duplicate work arise, and at which point does someone wait for someone else. This often reveals that a small organisational change achieves more than new software.
Typical starting points with quick impact
- Document flow: capture incoming invoices digitally, extract data automatically, approve and pass them directly into accounting – instead of paper, PDF attachments and manual entry.
- Document storage: a structure with clear permissions and search capability instead of grown drives where each department maintains its own logic.
- Approvals and authorisations: traceable with a timestamp instead of an email chain that stalls when someone is on leave.
- Recurring data transfers: interfaces between existing systems instead of manual export, reformatting and import.
- Standard reports: generated and distributed automatically, so decisions are based on current figures.
Artificial intelligence with a clear use case
AI makes sense where large volumes of unstructured information need to be processed: reading and classifying documents, pre-sorting enquiries, preparing texts, finding patterns in data. Three questions are decisive, and we answer them before every implementation: which data leaves the company? How is the result checked before it takes effect? And what does operation cost relative to the time saved? Where these questions cannot be answered cleanly, we advise against it – even if the technology is impressive.
Vendor-neutral and handover-ready
We are not tied to any vendor and do not earn from licence margins you don't see. Everything we build is documented so that your internal IT or another provider could take it over. That is deliberate: a customer who has to stay because they cannot switch is not a satisfied customer.
Connection to the other areas
IT projects often end at a process boundary. When the document flow is digitalised, this directly affects accounting. When a new website is created, tracking, data protection and the lead process are part of it – topics for marketing. And larger undertakings need someone to lead them, i.e. project management. Because these areas sit together at Opervanta, coordination across company boundaries becomes unnecessary.
